Obtain a Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence

Want to get your heavy vehicle licence? NuVrachtwagen is the fastest way to learn the theory. If you want to drive a heavy truck, you need a heavy vehicle licence, or Category C licence. For a lighter vehicle, a Category C1 licence is sufficient. A Category C1 truck licence allows you to drive a motor vehicle with an authorised maximum mass between 3,500 kg and 7,500 kg. If it is heavier, you need a Category C licence.

Requirements for a heavy vehicle licence

If you want to get your heavy vehicle licence, you must meet a number of requirements. For example, you must be at least 21 years old to apply for a Category C licence without Code 95. To apply for a Category C licence with Code 95, you must be at least 18 years old. You must also hold a Category B licence. If you only have a Category C licence, you are not allowed to drive professionally.

If you do want to drive professionally, you’ll also need to obtain your Code 95 qualification. Once obtained, your Category C licence is valid for 5 years. If you want to renew your licence after these 5 years because your heavy vehicle licence has expired, you can also take a refresher course with us. You’ll also need to submit a health declaration. Once you’ve obtained your Category C licence with Code 95, we can help you find a suitable job if you wish.
